Coastal Path

Crystal House is situated (very nearly!) right on the Wales Coast Path. We have many walks and routes that start and/or finish in Barmouth, including the Taith Ardudwy Way and the Mawddach Trail.

So, dust of your walking boots and head to Barmouth. Most maps are able to be printed from the online webpage or just pop into the the Tourist Information Centre at Barmouth train station and the staff will be able to assist you! Also, we have a selction of maps that you are most welcome to borrow.

We're also within easy reach of Cadair Idris, Coed y Brenin and Dolgellau which all offer even more choice of scenery.

Why not book to stay with us during Barmouth Walking Festival? This annual event held in September provides guided walks for all levels of ability along with evening functions and entertainment.

Lon Ardudwy

For those who prefer to pedal along on two wheels, Lon Las Cymru (North) passes through Barmouth. More commonly known as Cycle Route 8, it's a popular route for anyone wanting to cover Wales from north to south, or vice versa.

Our proximity to the Mawddach Trail has the benefit of a gentle, flat route more suited to mountain bikes rather than road bikes. And at Coed y Brenin, there's a whole range of cycle routes. Beics Brenin has lots of information and tips to help plan your day.

If you don't want to bring your cycles with you, you can hire bicycles from Snowdonia Cycles in Llanbedr and Beics Brenin in Coed y Brenin.

You can also spend part of your break with us testing out your sea-legs!

Barmouth Boat Trips offer lots of different options to spend some time out in the deep blue sea.

Discover the dolphins and spot some seals out in Cardigan Bay or you could even try to catch something tasty for your tea!

Barmouth RNLI Station is a must to have a look around. The staff are on hand to answer any questions and you can also visit the gift shop to buy some souvenirs to take home.

Step back in time at Barmouth's Maritime Museum. Have a look at the artefacts from some of the ship wrecks found in Cardigan Bay in the building locally regarded as the oldest building in Barmouth.
